Get Involved

We meet every Thursday at 18:15—in Hofgarten in case of good weather, otherwise in lecture hall A of the Juridicum (Faculty of Law and Economics, Adenauerallee 24-42, 53113 Bonn). The only exceptions are our upcoming two intro talks! The weekly meetings feature open-ended discussion, sometimes with pre-announced topics. No matter your level of familiarity with effective altruism, everyone is always welcome to join us!

Apply for our Effective Altruism Intro Program

How can we use the world’s resources to best help others? How can we tackle some of the world’s most pressing problems, including ending global poverty and factory farming, mitigating technological risks, preventing future pandemics, and stopping climate change? How can people from Bonn find fulfilling and impactful careers?

The Effective Altruism Intro Program is a four-week long program that engages with these questions and explores the core concepts and ideas within the Effective Altruism community. You can add four more weeks to the program if you want to get more in-depth knowledge and work on a small project - but that is optional. And you don’t need to decide now. We hope the program will provide you with a framework for figuring out how you can make a difference in the world.

Speak with an Organizer

If you have questions about the program, the application process or are unsure if you are a good fit - please reach out! If it is just a quick question, shoot us an email. Otherwise feel free to schedule a meeting (virtual or in person) with one of our organizers. We are happy to talk to you and will do our best to answer your questions.
